Holistic Therapies for Animals

Gentle, non-invasive support for your pets emotional and physical wellbeing - working alonsige, never instead of, veterinary care.

I know that for some people, the word "holistic" raises an eyebrow.  That's completely understandable - and honestly, a healthy dose of scepticism is no bad thing when it comes to your pet's care.

What I can tell you is this: in my experience, animals don't have the same filters we do.  They don't read the label before deciding whether anything helps them.  They simply respond - or they don't.  And in years of working with anxious dogs, elderly cats and animals living with complex medical conditions, and I have seen responses that have surprised even me.

The therapies I offer are gentle, non-invasive, and always led by the animal.  Nothing is forced, nothing is imposed.  Your pet is in control throughout - and that, for many animals who have had very little control in their lives, is where the healing begins.

ANIMAL REIKI

Energy support for anxious, unwell, or emotionally complex animals

Reiki is a gentle energy practice rooted in Japanese tradition.  The word itself means somthing close to "universal life energy" - the same concept that appears in Chinese medicine as Chi, and in yoga traditions as prana.  In practice, it involves the practitioner holding a calm, open, and meditative state and allowing the animal to engage with that energy however they choose.

Animal Reiki is never done to an animal.  It is offered.  Some animals move closer, some simply relax in the same space.  And some yawn, sigh, or settle into sleep.  The response is always theirs.

It is particularly well-suited to animals who are anxious, fearful, in pain, recovering from illness or surgery, or living with a terminal diagnosis.  It is also deeply supportive for rescue animals - for whom the experience of a calm, non-demanding human presence can be quietly transformative.

As an Animal Reiki Master Teacher, I am qualified to offer both sessions and to teach others.  I work in your pet's own home, in their familiar environment, at their own pace.

Client Study

Enzio has suffered from epilepsy since he was a puppy.  He like the Reiki session so much that he would let me know when he was feeling unwell and would like a little bit of my special energy.  His owner told me he seemed calmer and more settled in the days following each session.

Herbal Support and holistic consultations

Plant-based support for your pets wellbeing, tailored to them as an individual.

Plants have been used to support animal health for thousands of years - and animals themselves instinctively seek out certain plants when they are unwell, a behaviour researchers call zoopharmacognosy.  Herbal medicine for animals us not a modern invention, it is a very old understanding that is finding renewed interest as pet owners look for gentler, more natural ways to support their animals.

As an Advanced Master Herbalist with a specialism in animals, I offer personalised guidance on how specific herbs can support your pet's nervous system, digestion, immune health, or general vitality.  This is not a one-size-fits-all supplement recommendation - it is a tailored conversation about your individual animal, their history, their current health, and what might gently support them.

Herbal support works beautifully alongside conventional veterinary treatment.  I always recommend informing your vet of any supplements used, and I will never suggest herbs in place of medical care where that care is needed.

Rahanni Angelic Healing

A heart centred healing practice for animals carrying emotional pain.

Rahanni is a relatively new modality - it works on the heart centre, releasing fear and negativity and bringing the animal into a greater sense of balance and peace.  It is particularly gentle, especially for animals that find the energy of Reiki too strong.  It is well-suited to highly sensitive animals, those who have experienced trauma, or those who are at the end of their life.

Like Animal Reiki, Rahanni is always offered rather than imposed.  The animal chooses how and whether to engage, and sessions are led entirely by their responses.  As a qualified Rahanni Angelic Healing Practitioner Teacher, I am trained both to offer and teach this practice.

Rahanni can be offered as a stand-alone session, or woven into a broader holistic care plan alongside herbal support, depending on your animals needs.

  • Highly sensitive animals
  • Fear-based behaviour
  • End of life support
  • Particularly helpful for emotional trauma

Questions I am often asked

Does it actually work?  I'm not sure I believe in energy healing.

That's a fair question, and I would rather be honest with you than make promises I can't keep.   What I can tell you is that I have watched deeply anxious animals settle.  I have seen dogs who were too frightened to be touched choose to move closer during a session.  I have had owners tell me their pet seemed more comfortably in the days following treatment.  Whether that is "energy" in any measurable sense, I cannot say with certainty.  What I can say is that something happens - and for many animals, it is something worth experiencing.

Will this replace my vet?

No - and I will never suggest that it should.  Holistic therapies work best alongside conventional veterinary care, not instead of it.  If your pet has a health concern that needs a vet, that comes first, always.

What if my animal isn't interest?

Then we respect that completely.  Every session is led by the animal.  If they choose, wonderful.  If they'd rather sleep in the corner, that's fine too - and sometimes that in itself is the response.  Animals are honest in a way that humans rarely are.

Can I have a consultation online if I am not local to Essex?

Yes.  Herbal consultations and holistic guidance are available online to pet owners anywhere in the UK.  In-home Reiki and Rahanni sessions are available in the Essex area only.

If you are curious about whether holistic therapies might help your animals - even if you're not entirely sure what you believe about them - I'd love to have a consultation.  There's no pressure and no expectation.  Just an honest chat about your pet and what might support them.
